What to Expect
Every church is different, and the best way to figure out if a church is right for you is simply to visit on a Sunday morning. However, that can be intimidating if you don't have some idea of what to expect. So, here are a few ideas about what you can expect on Sunday mornings at King's Cross Church...
What can I expect from a worship service?
The worship at King's Cross is centered on the gospel and driven by scripture. Musically, we have started with acoustic worship, and will branch out into other music genres as our church grows. Our services respect the history of worship in the Church while keeping current with the present age, so we sing ancient hymns set to modern arrangements as well as modern worship songs. At King's Cross, congregational participation in our worship services is key, so we hope you will participate in singing, scripture readings, and prayer. Our sermons make up about 35-40 minutes of the total worship service, which lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes. We look forward to worshiping with you!
Do you have adult Bible study / Sunday School / etc?
Not on Sunday mornings. We meet in a school, and we simply do not have the facility to accommodate adult groups on Sunday mornings. That said, Community Groups are a vital part in the life of our church! We believe strongly that small groups are the place where relationships grow the strongest and faith grows the deepest. If you are interested in being a part of a Community Group, please let us know when you fill out the Connection Card in the Sunday Bulletin. Or...you can email Josh (
What can I expect from your Children's Ministry?
King's Cross Kids is very excited to meet you and your children!
When you arrive in the lobby, we will have a few stations set up for check-in. Each of them will have an iPad and a volunteer ready to greet you. All families will need to walk through the steps with our volunteers to get added into the system & checked-in for the first time (don't worry, the program is very user friendly!). While we suggest you arrive 10-15 minutes early, this process will run until all families are checked-in securely! We will also give you a Family Information Card at that time. You may either fill it out there or bring it back the following week, but it is very important for us to have on file for each child we are serving as it includes things like allergies, emergency contacts, etc. After you check-in and receive a name tag & parent tag, your children will be ready for some fun!
All children, 3K - 5th graders, will enter the Big Kid's Room! This room will have smaller "rooms" inside, so look for your child's current age or current grade listed on the banners to know where to drop them off. We will have a fun morning of singing, story time, playing and praying with the kids while you worship next door. The Nursery (crib - walkers) will be down the hall from the Big Kids Room and the main worship space, so look for that banner too!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask any of our children's volunteers wearing a King's Cross Kids nametag, as they will be more than happy to help! For more information about our children's ministry you can email Kristen ( ).
Is there anything for Middle & High School students?
We believe the next generation has much to offer in the life of our church and in kingdom advancement, therefore, we are serious about investing in students! On Sunday morning, students (6th-12th grade) join us in the 10:00am Worship Service. Then on Sunday nights our students gather for age-specific teaching and fellowship. For more information about our student ministry stop by the student table on Sunday morning, or email Josh ( ) or Colleen ( ).
