how we help: make disciples
1. PARTNERING WITH PARENTS in leading their children toward a gospel-centered life. Discipleship starts in the home, and we want to partner with parents to help!
2. EQUIPPING LEADERS to disciple children. Our leaders are looked up to by our kids and we equip them to have meaningful relationships with kids & families.
3. DISCIPLING CHILDREN to grow in Christ. We teach kids biblical truths in meaningful ways and show them the value of the church community from an early age.
What are sunday mornings like?
We view KCK on Sunday mornings not as childcare, but as children’s discipleship. No matter what age, we want children to walk away from Sunday having heard a gospel message.
When you first arrive, we have a simple check in process you can complete to ensure your child will be safe and for us to get a bit of your information. Entry to our kids area is secure, and child pick up requires a matching security tag. Should we need to reach you concerning your child, we will text you during the service. When we occasionally offer snacks our leaders check each child’s medical information for allergy notes.
We have age specific environments (Nursery, Toddlers, Preschool, and Elementary), and teach gospel truths based on what is best for each age group. Each classroom has a Bible teaching time, activities, songs, games, and more. We even send home additional materials for you to discuss with your kids at home!
what Curriculum do you use?
The Gospel Project® for Kids immerses kids and preschoolers in the gospel through every story, theological concept, and call to mission from Genesis to Revelation. Ultimately, the gospel message changes everything; heart transformation can only take place when a child experiences the gospel. Through The Gospel Project® for Kids, kids and preschoolers will understand the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story—God’s story of redemption.
how do you partner with parents?
KCK believes that parents are called to be the primary disciplers of their children. We are passionate about partnering with parents by providing tools, resources, encouragement & accountability, as well as providing an echoing voice of the gospel to children each Sunday. During the week, it's our desire to be a helpful resource for parents as they navigate what it looks like to raise children in a gospel-centered home.
Families can expect take-home resources each Sunday along with weekly emails that contain Parent Resources and KCK news & events. We also encourage families to connect during the week and experience life together by joining one of our Community Groups. We realize that parenting is not easy in today’s world, and we are here to help!
We also offer events throughout the calendar year for families to be a part of, like Family Movie Nights, packing Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, and more! Make sure you sign up for our KCK Parent Emails to get our resources and updates about upcoming events.
how can I SERVe?
The KCK team is made up of volunteers who call King’s Cross Church home. This team uses their gifts and talents to make it possible to reach children with the life-giving message of the gospel on Sunday mornings. While parents engage in the worship service, children participate in exciting and active environments filled with worship, Bible teaching, and small groups. KCK team members are a group of awesome students & adults who are passionate about making disciples and impacting the next generation!
